[...] Our good friend R.W. Harper has been kind enough to allow me the privilege of publishing my Eve Online fiction on his Lorewriter.com site. Not only that, I am in good company as Rod himself and his cousin, Dedra Stevenson (both published authors) also write for the web site. The latest part to the story, Splintered Reality – part 11 – over the hill can be read here.
I'm sure all of us, even the best of writers, make mistakes at times, especially if that writer is a very busy person. Plus, you might want to remember that this is a CHILDREN'S story...that will be read by CHILDREN. Yes, it is good to use good grammar for children, but sometimes using the language that they might use themselves, is the best way to get them involved from the start of the story. Plus, that point I just made, might be the very reason the story is written the way it is! I, myself, would relate to a story where the characters speak like I do, rather than like some university professors...but that's just me. ;D

It seems to me that the comments left by Kenneth Mint are more disparaging than need be - and to turn around an old adage, fails to see the forest for the trees. What passes for constructive criticism is more a distates for someone's writing style than actual errors. These do not make the short story "very poorly written" but merely something that is not to the liking of that particular reader. There is a world of difference.

In the end it's not my website, but it seems like a place to share the joy of writing and not an english class. A private message would have been preferred.
